A beautiful Autumn weekend in the Pennines - glorious sunshine yesterday; considerately raining overnight; chillier today with some rain. Lightning storm forecast for 4:00 pm (ten minutes off as I write) but it's that wonderful dark raincloud with bright sunshine that Constable was so fond of. Very few hay wagons to complete the picture, alas.

As far as weather is concerned, BBM, just make sure all belongings are firmly roped onto the camel, as it looks like continuing to be windy. Best of luck with everything!

Oi! I heard that! I don't care, they are incredibly warm and I shall have very cosy toes this winter!
Best wishes to BBM for the move - remember to pack the kettle, teabags, biscuits and mugs in the car. The first thing removal men want is a cuppa!

It was so dark and raining this morning at 8am that I really didn't want to go out in it but it's become very windy so at least that keeps it moving rather than it lurking overhead.
This month so far we have had over 100m of rain (4"), this compares to the average for October of 73mm and is more than the higher total of 93mm for October 2012.
