    Pop-up DAB station?

According to Ariel, Radio 2 will have a 'temporary digital station' dedicated to country music from 5-8 March. This will be the second time it has had such a station as it had one 'following the Eurovision Song Contest'.

What is the implication of this (if anything) for available digital capacity ? Why can it only do it 'temporarily'?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Re digital capacity, see answers 9, 10, 11 and 12 to the FAQs: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/arti...urovision-faqs

Re 'temporarily', maybe it's because of the cost of the additional service, the marginal change to the bit rate of Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music, and licence permissions?

And they have to make do with 128kbps on the iPlayer too, whereas Radio 3 has the 320kbps option.
