    Freewheelin' somewhere new, Suze.

Suze Rotolo, the inspiration behind such gems as 'Boots of Spanish Leather' and 'Don't think twice, it's alright' and of course immortalised with Bob on the brilliant Freewheelin' cover, clinging together against the New York Winter, has passed on. Here's the obit from today's Guardian.
Artist, activist and Bob Dylan's muse who resisted the role of handmaiden

John - Thanks for this. I always loved that album cover. It is very natural. The album itself is my favourite of his earlier ones. I have read the excellent "Chronicles" mentioned in the article but I didn't know very much about their relationship. Just from the article, it is immediately apparent how she would have been an influence and they seem to have been so well matched. I will probably read Suze's book now. It seems so hard to believe that of those people who were so young on the cover one has now died. (Do you have most of the 150 green tracks now in The Chain? I do - I'm not sure if I've hit the wrong key or if it is GT having some fun. What is the last track on your version of the list?) - Lat.

The Grandmothers Lat - I was going to put Jean Genie on but decided it might just interrupt Global's environmental celebration of the arrival of spring - we've had skylarks twittering away today and I'm sure they're exceeding 140 characters - is that OK, do you think?

AS usual JC you are ahead of me. Skylarks - we don't get them round here. Instead we celebrate the humble dunnock.

Suze Rotolo - I think it diminishes her life and achievements to be characterised by the media as 'the girl on that record cover'.... I admire the way she didn't fall into the 'Muse of Bob' slot.
