Good choice, muzzer. There's really good versions of 'Coyote' out there; I love the one from 'Rolling Thunder' where Bob accompanies Joni on an early version of the song...stunning!

Hejira is my favourite of her albums. I started listening to the Archives today to mark her birthday but have been happily distracted by the joyous news from the US.

That album just oozes class and perfection - the arrangements and playing ! The first from her debut album - somehow combines beautiful simplicity - deceptive because there are complexities both in the delivery and the lyrics.

Well worth a listen - had a bit of lump in my throat and a tear in my eye - sometimes I take 'Blue' for granted because it has been with me for so long, and in so many forms, but when I do take time to listen to it, it still catches me out, taking me places no other artwork does.

I have it recorded anonymously on one side of a D90 cassette which ended up in our local treasure trove covered market - with some Mercury Rev on the other side! Who would want to get rid of it thus? I can only think s/he must have obtained the CD.
