Well first of all lets hope Oilrig soon recovers & returns; but Max played a good super sub role.
The young'uns - World music from Teesside ? Is such a thing allowed? Of course it is & their vocal harmony work was particularly strong, as were some of their lyrics.
A World on 3 with Astatke, Gogol Bordello & Natacha Atlas, plus a Ry Cooder live track (that I think I first heard in the 70's by him but is actually a Woody Guthrie song) was always going to get my vote.
You know what r3 - you could always add Max to that rota too...
