And no doubt those worthy 'winners' will be heavily featured in all of Radio 2's glorious daytime programmes.
Polite cough, nurse ?

"The Playlist Committee, made up of producers and chaired by Jeff Smith, Head of Music Radio 2, meet each week to decide which new releases will be added to the station's playlist.
The playlist contains about 30 tracks which are divided into three levels: A list, which receive the most plays, about 20 each week; B list 10 plays and the C list around 5 plays.
The Radio 2 playlist is one of the most varied of any* radio station in the UK and can include albums as well as singles.
Before any CD can be considered for inclusion it must be commercially available** "

PS.
Global,
I've just invested heavily in one the winners for a birthday Gift.
Is it any good ?

Thanks. That's ok if it's a 'grower' as the boss keeps cds in her car for several years at a time - in fact the multiplay wotsit has only been changed once in six years - and that was only because it went faulty in no time at all ( Audi, ha! )
Following your news I've sent a note to Boss Bob Shennan asking if any of the lucky winners will get any daytime, weekday spins
What do you think the answer, if any, might be ?

btw, and, as usual this is the wrong thread, I had a tweet from iMaxR on my other bee-in-the-bonnet about 'currency', and he reckons there is something upcoming to address that, but it was all a bit enigmatic. Do you know of any developments in that area? A quick Easyjet flight for Kershaw to Tahrir Square?
Here's a picture from that square taken by someone there in the last couple of days. I want to know what music this man is playing. don't you?

I had to do a run out to pick up my daughter from her pal's house. As I switched on the radio Chris Wood was introduced and started into Hollow Point - utterly magnificent performance - had a tear in my eye by the time I got to the end of the journey. How fantastic that a song like that gets the award - I thought Chris' address afterwards was also most uplifting. Highlights are on the red button on the telly for the next week or so, apparently.

I like folk. Chris Wood deserved to win. The Fisherman's Friends too - they have got great voices. I didn't realise about Norma - very sad.
I saw Donovan singing with Shaun Ryder in a Glastonbury tent. Surreal. I have never listened to the Chris Evans breakfast programme and never will do. Didn't like Wogan either.

I was reminded of that piece that Max played last week of Alan Ginsburg with Don Was (was it?) 'singing' about Chernobyl and Max suggesting that others didn't seem to have written about it, but Ginsburg did.
