...........Incidentally, Global, don't think I failed to observe Alasdair Fraser slipping out quietly just as Oumou came back in. No one gets away from this venue without it being noticed and then noted down for future reference.

Anyhow, that Special EFX number is excellent.

I have just added Takashi Hirayasu and Bob Brozman's 'Jin Jin'; Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali's 'Dil Wali Cal Karni'; Teddy Afro's '400 Fikir' and Sipho Gumede's 'Hammersdale'. No YT for these four so those without Spotify can use their imagination(s?).

You know that way when a song comes on and you have to go back and play it again....and then again. Today that song happened to be 'Erin-Go-Bragh' and I reckoned that the DG had to go onto the list and then I saw the list was expanded and thought: 'Ain't no stoppin' me now!'

Great stuff. He is also good live. I saw him at Cecil Sharp House.

"Ain't no stoppin'"? I have spent this morning in Morrisons creating a sound in my head of McFadden and Whitehead doing 'Pound a Week Rise'. It was a great way of not becoming too involved with the items in other peoples' baskets. All it needs now is for someone to invent a machine that can record it onto flexi-disc.

In the meantime, I have added something similar to our list - "Shinawi" by the Korean Folk Music Ensemble. It is difficult to say precisely when this extraordinary music originated but the CD is called "Four Thousand Years". Surely it can't be, can it?

I haven't fully taken yet to Vieux Farka Toure. I do accept though that he has silenced his critics with "The Secret". Justifiably described as the Hendrix of the Desert, he collaborated on "Aigna" with Derek Trucks. Trucks is a terrific musician in his own right. I have added it, happily, to our list. Here is the relevant clip along with another of the Tedeschi Trucks Band which I have posted before. In my humble opinion, it is nothing less than one of the best soul tinged songs from the United States in the past decade.
