Wow. Great photos Global. Was she a friend of this good person who is very much missed?

I recommend what was the Jazzworld stage and is now something else. Have seen Osibisa, Susana Baca, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Fat Freddy's Drop, Jimmy Cliff, Solomon Burke and many others there. Plus there's breathing space as long as Rolf isn't in town.

I can't really include this one in the world music list so it goes here. Many didn't take to Jimmy Little's cover versions album. Actually, I did. I thought it was great. Have just found out that he died this year. What a shame. I could have chosen any track from the CD but it has to be the one by the Go-Betweens. One of their three finest songs, in my opinion, of very many:

Jimmy Little - Cattle and Cane - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i76J4kO8eCA

......and erm, Maria Jose Hernandez - just my imagination or is there something of Joni here?

María José Hernández en el Teatro Principal de Zaragoza el 6 de marzo de 2007 interpretando su tema "Todavia a veces"http://www.myspace.com/mariajoseherna......

I thought I'd put Crucán Na bPáiste with Karen Matheson and the Transatlantics in here, and put this heart breaking song on the list.

...one of the great Transatlantic sessions.

              Simply outstanding (as expected).

John, does Oilrig choose the participants at Celtic Connections? Karen Matheson please doing that one and 'Aodann Srath Bhain'.

....Blimey Global. You have managed to find a song in Italian that features my mother's name.

                (and I don't mean Enoch )

144........I am not sure that I am coping too well with all this cliffhanging stuff!

Very nearly included this one to be challenging but space is precious so I've dropped it :

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Incidentally, if this doesn't get in, I won't sleep or eat for weeks but don't worry. It's entirely up to you. No pressure :

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I'll leave the list in collaborative mode for a week or so in case anyone wants to tweak or change....it's good listening though innit?

                    Yes.

Dilemmas. I am not hugely ecstatic about Rokia Traore but recognise that she is a notable exception. If you would prefer to have her and not the goat pipes, that would be ok with me but I would like to make Arto the last one as it works so well there.

I felt that it could have gone to 200 at a push. Gilberto Gil isn't there either. I should imagine that Max would be quite appalled. Additionally, Godoy was one who I had ready, there were a fair few tentatives, and the little bit extra would have provided just enough space to roam "creatively" without losing focus on the formal terms of reference. But I accept your decision.

Yes, true. I have error 404 on Spotify this evening. Can't search for tracks. Some other facilities affected. There is some indication that it is a widespread server problem. Hope it isn't going to go on for too many hours. I might have to give BBC radio a go!

(Some improvements since - can do the main search, other search aspects no)

In fact the list seems to have dropped 4 tracks. Strange - perhaps it's become self-aware?,

Or The PP? Or (more likely) the situation where artists work is removed from Spotify by their label.

Means that Blind Boys of Alabama track can now be added...

                            Mine still says 150. (Seriously!)

I get Spotify from Crystal Palace.

Yours is probably from Sutton Coldfield or Holme Moss unless it is run on 4 X AA in which case Chesterfield or Buxton.

Global - Which Rokia Traore song shall we have? Or Alabama can replace the goat pipes if you wish?

Yes, it's back up to 150 again & The BB's of A are on there, pipping the previous entry for last place. If you can't be first, be last I always say.

The eye of an eagle in me - or is it a hawk? - notes the loss of Oumou Sangare.

She must be wondering about the world.

Odd use of hacksaw but whatever.

Arto's song has always been Global Truth to me as you introduced me to it.

But every man has a right to replace himself.

Goat piping isn't on every high street.

And this is the seventh sentence of seven.

                                There could have been eight.

(From the anthology "This is Not a Haiku" by L. Thinkingone)
