I thought I'd get my Harry Smith anthology out today as a way of celebrating its sixtieth anniversary. My favourite today was The Waggoner's Lad by Buell Kazee - I think I originally heard this on a Joan Baez record that my dad had when I was a kid. I'm sure she sang it unaccompanied. There's always great surprises in that there anthology.

'That Buell Kazee is AMAZING'
It's always been a favourite from that classic box. And my head and ears tell me that if I was sequencing Buell in any form I'd have to follow him
with dear Ivor Cutler. Would work for me at any rate !
