World on 3 LIVE this Friday 7th Sept

    Morning,

Thought you might like to know that following on from Max's happy live experiences on LJ, World on 3 is going to be doing likewise from time to time. I'll be down presenting the Baloji/Staff Benda Bilili prom on Thursday, so this week's show seemed like a good one to go with for a first outing. If any of you are feeling interactive of a late Friday night...?!

A great suggestion, Oilrig. Thank you.

The live threads we had during "Music Planet" were fun. The new initiative suggests a role for texts and tweets, not that I do either myself.

Good luck with the Prom. I like SBB a lot and this concert is timely, given the September release of 'Make The World Move'.

What is a happy live experience for a presenter, I'm wondering ?

Hey that's great oilrig - great to hear you relive the old GG days. Hope you'll be digging out your Harry Smith for his 60th anniversary - Eck Robertson and Family doing Brilliancy Medley would fit the bill. I reckon that without Harry we'd all be listening to different stuff altogether.

At the ready to interact at this end

Which reminded me of another Carrier, the late Roy.

A superb performance by The Unthanks and the Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band at the 2012 Folk Music Awards, The Lowry Theatre Manchester. This performance is...

Posh doo that, indeed ( Can't stand the place myself ! Bad building Lowry, bad )
John, Luella Miller is in your spotty pigeon hole and I don't mean a copy of the erotic thriller.

                PS
My pigeon hole has been plastered with cracking tunes recently.
                Ta.

                For the curious :

                It's rather good, imo.

Now that was a strong programme, imo. And live too ! Checked R3's tweeter at around 10pm but it had already gone
off to its nest. And shortly after that I was dead to the world on 3, too.

As I said elsewhere, Paul, I'm a Bililiever - great show! Sounded like the audience had a great time.
