... i misssed the 70s in UK because i was sailing to places elsewhere in music and culture .... one place and music that captured my heart was Argentina, more specifically Buenos Aires and the playing of Atahualpa Yupanqui and Eduard Falu

on the old bored we got Atahualpa played on LJ .... let's try for Eduard...

Mis-information meant we missed Barenboim performing to all and sundry in Buenos Aires last August, but fortunately
(ha!) we were able to get to a decent record store to get the odd Falú item. Atahualpa was played on LJ and by MAK on Wo3.
I'm sure that the divine playing of Eduard Falú will follow in the fullness of time. That clip, Calum, is almost too much to bear ...

Calum - thanks for the recommendation - found the Roberto Lara on the web and it arrived today in the post-New Year post - had the house to myself this afternoon and it made for absolutely wonderful listening - thanks again.
