A very happy birthday from all the people inside my head at 10.20am precisely.

Only three days to the end of the world too. Groovy.
Happy to you Mr Lateralthinking - hope it's a grand one....in my head you don't look a day over seven squared.
My favourite birthday song to you. Just add a zero!

Thank you Mr JC. Very kind. On my fourth birthday, my uncle/godfather wore a badge that said "I am 50". I recall us laughing out loud at the difference which seemed like 200 years. The plus point is that he seemed full of life.

To celebrate, I am going to the pub which sells a very reasonably priced steak and kidney pie to anyone who is not overly bothered if both steak and kidney are absent. If something other than pastry is discovered, people pull a cracker.

Incidentally, all of the humane and talented ones were born today - Biko, Brandt, Spielberg, Wesley, erm, Stalin. Well maybe not...........

And some have the nerve to say that astrology is rubbish!

(Btw, in the 1960s, my pet goldfish were called Pinky and Perky so that is a brilliant bit of "telepathy" )

Excellent. Thank you GT. Few would believe it but that's actually a picture of their chef.

I absolutely support that statement - I've enjoyed life much more since passing that particular milestone. An excellent point.

You may begin to feel you are happily living on Jupiter...

I must obtain that publication immediately. Thanks to both of you. Liberation has already occurred. I fell asleep after my turkey dinner - the pie, and indeed custard, were off - and avoided an episode of celebrity Eggheads.

A very good thing about having one at this time is that it doubles the number of cards. I didn't think I would have to move the pottery cat this year but even that has again proved necessary. Just goes to show doesn't it?

Only 153 days distant too - sign me up Mr Branson. Glad you've had a fine day of it - I had Cullen Skink today, since we're in soup season - and very nice it was too.

to think that another week (or so) and you could have had exactly the same birth date as jesus! so you got off comparatively lightly there then!

Many thanks handsomefortune. Very kind. Of course, I have kept it all extremely low key on the forum so it is good of you to note it. As soon as I turn 51, I probably won't mention my age at all.

Happy birthday too to Bill Nelson, 64, and Keith Richards, 69. I see Shane MacGowan is 55 on 25 December. How odd is life.

dec 25th looks to be a good day for musician birthdays. Sharing with Bill Nelson would do for me! Another of the good guys.

Actually I spotted a brindled Cullen Skink in the shrubbery, managed to shift it by playing a couple of Sam Lee tracks at ear damaging volumes - turned tail & headed North.thank heavens it wasn't a frumious Cribeen .

Hope your hangover isn't too bad Lat, it was a great party , music was exceptional. Thanks
