If they have to make some cuts in the WM area, then her salary would be my nomination...
I wondered who made the decision that Brothers from Brazil were 1. suitable for Wo3! 2. any good in the first place. Did you hear the track 'I don't like the Beatles' or something (aaarrrggghhh!) - and Lopa was trying to persuade that they're great. I did have a listen to the end and liked the last few especially Liz Green - good voice. But it doesn't take away from the problem that the whole was less than brilliant ( a lot less).

The trouble is that for many 'music lovers' over 37.5 years of age, most radio broadcasts are weighed down by that image
which Max Miller created of the man with the obese wife ...

It's an app I've got that follows one half on the popular 60's husband and wife pop duo, Global - my new CherApp - somehow there seems to be a glitch or two in the system (think the app is struggling to keep up to speed with certain changes she has been making)* , but one of the pleasanter side effects is that I get some inputs from the Global Jukebox. I thought everybody got it - must e-mail Mrs Bonono and tell her to get real.

*(actually works better on the windows 95 platform, don't you find?)

              John,

Can you hear the squeeking of my hamster wheel, up there ?
There's no chance of listening to these late nighters at the moment.
And frankly I can't be bothered with the LA facility !

              And thanks for asking

              PS
I did think I'd try Late Junction last night. Then that Jez came on !

I thought you hadn't been oiling the hinges Paul - or that the former Mrs Bonio was trying one of her latest dance routines - oh, if only she could turn back time!

Hey, we do a version of that down on the allotments:

"if I could turnip back time"

Sometimes that French couple do their favourite oldie

                  "we are the champignons"

                  ...

(please don't add any pea based suggestion involving John Lennon or Englebert Humperdinck)

I can't beet those. I always knew I wasn't posh when I discovered that some pronounce the "e" in "vegetables". Other pleb status distinctions involve the words "geography" and "poetry" - the elites don't pronounce the "e" in those.

I will spare detail about my last two trips to the local corner shop in Conservative, leafy, suburban Surrey. Suffice it to say:

Trip 1 - Two guys got out of a van, swore at me and grabbed me by the shoulder in half light for absolutely no reason in a thoroughly threatening manner. They are doing some paving for someone on the next road, I thought I was about to be mugged by them and said to them "who the hell are you?". They backed off and said in a peculiar bumptious manner "we are from Ground Force paving - have you got any grass that you want replacing?".

Trip 2 - As it poured down with rain, a bloke in sunglasses crossed to my side of the road. He then started walking down a green that leads to nowhere but which is beside the house of some elderly people I know. Obvious thief, I thought, and prepared to ring the police so they could get here by Christmas. But oh no. He just decided that it was obviously the local public toilet.

Is it me or has the entire country become insane? I haven't heard Lopa's latest yet and might not bother. Sounds poor.

These kind of things seem to sprout up everywhere Lat. Glad to hear that none of them tried to Carrotte you.

On the subject of Lopa don't miss this one.

Isn't that a perfect record JC - and you managed to find one of the few songs ever recorded without a place in its title. Spooky!

                            did anyone listen to this?
Lopa Kothari with a specially recorded studio session by Hungarian folk group Muzsikas.

IF so a quick review would be appreciated.

I'm wondering whether to invest the time or prevail on PS/JC for another Spooty playlist...

I listened for half an hour Global - caught Musikas and really enjoyed them (though I found myself longing for a spot of Marta). Enjoyed the Chopin in Siberia - Lopa was being a bit teachery - am planning to have a listen to the rest if I can get the wallpapering finished (how I hate it and it's at the other end of the house from the computer - though I had a fun afternoon listening to Jarvis on 6 and particularly the Leonard Cohen section with an interesting story of how he got his song and this always-has-been-and-ever-will-be classic.

                              Lenny's speech - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRv3rKBZyEY

                              just a dress rehearsal - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDc2uURjW10

....and Jarvis played some Mothers of Invention - thought I should mention that as it don't happen too often .

Is there a teen-twenty-something audience for any Len of Today?
