    Celtic Connections 2012

Glasgow's festival of folk and world music, Celtic Connections, started a couple of nights ago. BBC radio and TV are recording bits of it.

In the meantime, here are interviews with some of the musicians who'll be appearing :

Thank you for these Byas'd Opinion. I would welcome advice from board members about the best way for Londoners to get the full Celtic Connections experience. Would it be fair to say that it is MAK on R3 and BBC Scotland via I-Player and then the website of the event? Is there anything else to add to that list? Lat.

Sorry Lat I'm being a bit slow on this - here's the BBC Scotland page with upcoming broadcasts.

I'm still hoping to get to Genticorum though I'm supposed to be working that evening. The Gerry Rafferty concert went down well on the radio reviews and I have to say that some clips I've heard sounded good, but with some of GR's songs it's hard to go wrong - that concert is on Beeb2 Scotland on the 1st Feb (same night as genticorum). There are clips from concerts coming on line as the festival progresses eg

World on 3 @ Celtic Connections

        Morning all,

Heading south for Glasgow tomorrow and will be at the Exhibition Hall of the GRCH for the Late Night Sessions Tues-Fri. The sessions start at 10pm and we go on air at 11. Tuesday's line-up will include this chap - http://www.fredmorrison.com - should be rather marvellous!

I have connected my listening device into the computing apparatus and am also anticipating the auditory entrancement.

That piece of State of the Ark technology brought 'Feets don't fail me now' into my head Global for some reason.

Sorry, a difficult morning. Tasteful Cuban selections early on then a live perfomance from Sally Carr in Norway last year. Truly extraordinary. Ever since, recent European attempts at funk. I'm determined to find a good one if it takes me all afternoon.

Thanks all - and the earpiece looks a good deal better than the dodgy cans I'll be trying to avoid wearing. The rest of the line-up tomorrow night will be Madison Violet, Rab Noakes and Fribo. Enjoy.
