Wonder if anyone will take up the Baby Huey challenge ?

( On 3, that is. 6 would be too easy what with that Coe chap and a different Huey, Mr Morgan )

Shame that Max played Alemu Aga's best known number on Tues. in my ideal world he would have been back in the studio for another 'live' session ...but that got me wondering - what happens to those sessions? A lot of them are dire (to my ears) but they are always superbly well recorded. In true BBC style I suspect they just delete the files after a bit to free up a bit of disk space. Wouldn't it be good if they were in a Listen Again archive somewhere ? Maybe they are?

[anyone got any idea how we're going to get Max off his Dowland kick? Whilst not as bad as the reclusive Sylvian favoured by Fiona, they are starting to make my tears flow gently ...]

Paul - don't miss that Matheo Romero track on Thursdays show just before the poet.

        Ring a ding ding

Max is involved with this theatre company, so I thought it was ok to post a quick ad for their latest production; this is aimed at 3-6 year olds.
Shame I won't be able to get there , looks great though.....

Max returns tonight in the first of three truncated performances to make way for the 2011 Proms. What's that all about?
Anyway, if you don't want to see the result, look away now.
Max Reinhardt presents music from Darko Rundek's Cargo Trio and Jordi Savall.

....but Lat, he's playing a spot of JL in the show.
Wonder if we'll see the return of PS too.

JL spots all week, I think John.
I was particularly taken with the start of the Palmer Eldritch in the brief Tuesday show -
working as it was in close harmony with my printer's warm-up routine.

Very nicely crackly Paul - like 6 music's vinyl day on Sunday - I loved the London Bulgarian Choir pieces...and just like Max to choose such a fine JL track.
Hope you had a fine time of it over the festives.
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Foolproof way to spend a London December evening, that, John - the Bulgarians sounded marvellous.
Had a very, very fine break, thanks - but then Cornwall beach walking etc is also pretty foolproof. I wonder if the Bulagarian
Choir could be persuaded to pop down next December ? Hope you and others enjoyed the holidays - you didn't happen to
record that MAK Family Show, did you ??

Sorry Paul - I watched it on Alba - MAK had been on earlier that evening introducing the highlights of the 2011 Mod at which my wife said - is she always on this channel? It was a lovely film.

Never mind John, I expect I'll be able to get it via Amazon one clique, in the fullness of time.
Is she always on that channel ?

Well she was that night! Haven't heard her doing the footie commentary yet, mind you.

Perhaps there should be a Global Gatherings, World On 3 or even a World Routes, live from Baird's Bar, Glasgow ?
Unless there are health and safety issues of course ...

Hey Max, contrary to what you just said......straight from the horses mouth or at least text from the guy who is handling the release this spring of a new collection from the late and sadly missed Martyn Bennett. The CD title has been changed to AYE.

Thanks for that OP - good to hear from you - that Josaya Hadebe piece was an amazing piece of vocals in a show packed with fine vocals - do you reckon that the Khatylaev Family counts as vocals - the Byzantine choir certainly does, and the Unthanks too. That piece at the start from the Mbuti tribe reminded me of that piece on Music Planet last year when the tribe changed the words of a particularly sacred song to offer us listeners protection. As for Sophisticated Lady it reminded me to dig out Washboard Sam's Sophisticated Mama for a listen.
