Honey, I Killed The Forum !

Getting a bit fed up with seeing the post I made over two days ago as the latest post on the world music section, so a mention to a segment on last night's Late Junction that hit the spot with me.

I left it for two reasons - (a) have been catching up with a lot of radio and television on I-Player and particularly (b) thought it would be nice to have a new name at the top of the board for a while. Rushing in to reply always feels a bit like being domineering although these things are always difficult in terms of timing.

I heard that bit of Late Junction on a late journey along the side of the Clyde last night heading for Helensburgh and thought it wonderful too. Made me think of this lot who are always worth a listen. There's a woman appears near the end who looks like she's shouting them in for their dinner.

These had me scurrying for my disc of Berio's Voci interspersed with traditional archive singing. They turned out to be Sicilians and not Sardinians but no matter, serendipity is a marvellous thing.

Yes well I've been in South Cerney doing things with titanium and toothy critters.

Wifi was in short supply so I've been reminding myself how good T. Diabate and Ballake Sissoko are via the wonders of compressed mp3s. Good enough.

          Better catch up I suppose...intriguing.

Do not worry Mr. Z. about being top, Ian Russell worried about it so much he went away...don't do that.

It's a while since I listened zola, but did you ever hear Kershaw's visit to Corsica and Sardinia - it was a real revelation when I first heard it and was well worth the extra listen or two since.
