    >>>Of the latter, Bloody Mary was one of the first to go in.

    Lat,

Many of Barrence's tunes behave in the same way as those on that Tom Brosseau first cd.
They remain as fresh as the morning dew !
And a night out with the Savages is a guaranteed good 'un.
    I've had quite a few !

Thanks Paul. I enjoyed Andy's article and I will listen to more Barrence. I do recall him, possibly from Andy or Mark's programmes, because I remember thinking the name unusual - sort of Clarence Carter, Barrett Strong, Norman Whitfield - not that the musical reference points are quite the same.

It has been such a long time since I've been to a gig, I really must get back into it all again more in 2011. Used to go all the time but for the last few months I've not wanted to go into London for anything. I've veered increasingly towards the outdoors and the rural in the last few years anyway. Now,when I do return, it is likely only to be for music events and what a great gig that would be.

I know Garrence -her sister lives up the Glen - Garrence lives in Dundee - 'twould be good if she lived in Whitfield in Dundee, now I think about it - but tell you what Global, I wouldn't think of referring to her as Garry.

Funny thing, as far as I remember Barrence Whitfield & The Savages never got a gig in Glasgow.
It was one of my ambitions to see them performing with a Scottish audience !

Just checked Paul - Fiona doesn't have BWATS on the playlist tonight, though she might have slipped them in unannounced.(I stick a smilie in here but they appear to have been snowed off this evening).

Somehow I missed the last few posts. I was smashing up my living room. I have now found a very nice position for this year's Christmas tree.

Yes. I like 'em. They look totally wild. Reliance Paperboy Reed - he's got to be a bit X-Factor by comparison. 2011. Change of plan. The middle of the mosh pit is calling. Santa, get your reindeer over here quick. I have to have that jumper!

Watch the larynx Lat - remember that in the presence of Christmas trees you can be at the mercy of tinsellitis.

Being of a Scottish persuasion John maybe you can advise...I've just been offered eight legs of venison for forty quid.

                          Is that two deer?
