The Nick Luscombe mix is fine with me.

However I was irritated by his request for listeners to let him know what they want to hear. I want to be led to new horizons, not hear once again my all-time favourites.

Hey OB do spend a few mins trying to persuade me why I should listen to the Mario Bros theme & endless prog rock, my ears are open..

My opinion was based on two programmes heard at the beginning of the week. But the third programme later in the week was very mediocre, and I switched off.

Very unfortunate, because when Nick Luscombe first appeared on LJ, I was most impressed by his breadth of vision.

In a way I'm relieved that I'm not alone.
It is, as you say, unfortunate & I do keep giving him another chance...although perhaps he has had enough; life is a bit too short.

Currying favour with the CB fans with a historic RnB track - some Tamikrest, Tanzanian, Greek selections and then some Budd & Richter to please the ambient crowd. Gone is the prog rock, the video game beepings.

For the love of Pete Mr Luscombe please desist with the assault on the old eardrums.

That Satelliti/ Young Wolf thing had me reaching for the off switch in a rush you may deem unconscionable but was in the fact the culmination of a load of bad tracks from your well-intentioned self that chimed badly with what's left of these auditory nerves. Even the Fontanelles didn't do it for me - an African Beat backing track without Fela or someone of that ilk chiding authority in his style; as for those tracks dedicated to WINTER in mid-July...

Ah well, return of MC MC next week - all should be well...or if not well, at least listenable to.

Apart from the lapse into prog-rock with YES (to whom I say NO, although maybe he was trying to be prescient) that was a tolerable LJ from NL.
