We were at a live music concert.
It was predominantly terrible, although an archivist with a ukelele sang quite an amusing history-based song about first discovery of Van Dieman's land and fishing for albatrosses with corks.
Bet AHN hasn't got that Woody Guthrie letter.

Sorry you folk were having such unsatisfying times. We were on the M5 and LJ was on during my passenger stint ( the driver has the radio choice so the 4 button was selected )
Anyway I was having an exhilirating time, courtesy of the ipod shufflemeister who dug out Henry Thomas, Don Gibson, Baobab, The Friendly Four Of Selma, The Five Singing Stars, Carthy E, Grupo Gualajo, Rachel harrington,
Paquito Hechevarria, Curt And Faye Bartmess, Rev Martin C Hines, The Blue Sky Boys, Billie Holiday, Jackie Mittoo, Victor Jara, The Judds, James Johnson & The CBS Trumpeteers, Don Walser ( a while since he was on 3, btw, but he was when Annie got gunning ! ) Chavela Vargas ( oof ! ) a storming Champion Jack Dupree, Cuarteto Machin, Reba Jones & The Six Wings of New York, Dennis McGee, Wild Tchoupitoulas, Gillian Welch, Mickey Newbury, Alice Coltrane ... and Aretha Franklin was on when we pulled in to the drive with ' Today I Sing The Blues ' ( thanks to Max for that bit of Americana ). Y'all should have been there !
Intrigued I've listened again to last night and really rather enjoyed most of what I've heard

Oo we doo like a list. The gig we went to was about the length of a Mercan Dede track away.
We're off to quite a lot of live music over the next few weeks - you just never quite know.
But nowhere near as much as the wonderfully named Bim Ditson who you may want to check out on Twitter Paul.
He goes to more live gigs than is healthy. Exhausting just to follow him.

I used to be quite a fan of NL, but I can't say I've found anything on his recent LJ stint to my taste. He's gone in a weird direction. Of course, the next track could be a corker, so I expect to have egg on face soon enough.

Russ,
Nb. Not lifted from LJ producer Peter Meanwell's forthcoming 'Breakfast Bible', as far as I know.

John,
The pod's banter is near-perfect even though it's a Parrott. No screeching just a gentle rolling and scrolling as each new treat arrives.
Well that's as far as I remember, as that only happens in my own car, which is presently in the singularly appalling hands of national accident repair services plc.
Barge poles etc, is my strong advice, if they ever try to come near you.
Enjoyed much of what I heard from young Nic, last night, btw.

Global,
I have to do a list every few months. Will check out Mr Bim and see how he compares with Russ Jones & Family of Crewe.
If you see this face at a gig :

listening to Late junction last niught on me telly box, you know the one with the R3 screen was amazed at just how randomly wrong the on screen text was ...compared to what was actually being played, added greatly toi the fun of LJ by Nick ..... some v nice jazzy tracks i thoughtAccording to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.
