Well Declan... did I just read of him somewhere on BBC3 and Laura I shall add as well. Thanks for helping me as I feel I am often two weeks behind in what my daughter is tuned into in life. Occasionally, I surprise her with being ever so slightly ahead of her current evolving horizon. She remains forever in her providence of remaining precocious with classical music, tho.
thank you,

We are nipped with cold BIG TIME this evening. Snuggled in with the cat the little lap dog the child and a fire. The Icelandic pony is out neighing at our intrepid Norwegian Elg Hound and Great Pyrenees.

That really sets a scene. Even here, we were only able to use the car today after a gap of more than a week. It is still very icy underfoot but I now have a Christmas tree which has brightened up home quite a lot. I am not sure about Declan and the BBC 3 connection - you may well be right - but he was at Celtic Connections. A lot of plaudits all round, including from Eddi Reader, who I saw live last year. I love Kiteflyer's Hill:
Anyway, have a nice evening - and John, terrific video there for Laura Veirs.

.....ps The Eddi Reader clip is probably best listened to as the words and pictures are not quite in sync.

so...oooo Lateralthinking1,
I was a wee bit off. It was the NYT. [New York Times]
"At the same time “Illuminations” has an anthem in Italian — could it be a Groban album otherwise? — along with one in Portuguese (written with an assist by Carlinhos Brown) and another in French (by Rufus Wainwright and Kate McGarrigle). “Galileo,” a dewy song about love defying reason, is by the Irish songwriter Declan O’Rourke." NYT
Believe I also had Declan switched with guitarist Jim O'Rourke.
ta,

Many thanks to both of you - I will have a listen. I feel really rather sheepish in asking this - I've got most of the other essentials right now - but how do you create a link like that to Spotify? Lat.

On the title - (whether LP, single track, playlist) - right click and choose 'copy HTML' and then go to the message, right click again and paste and it should drop in. I see from the jazzers that Calum has managed to embed a video into his message - thought it looked very good - now how did he do that?

and then embed the URL like you would for a pic. then you'll get it. However I don't know what that does to Forum's bandwidth usage...I'm sure FF will tell us when she drops by.

You're probably right, keep it simple is the best approach.
If you try and play that video I inserted you get sound but a v. dodgy picture which looks like a bandwidth issue to me - could be local to here as we are operating with a restricted service which consists of a flock of BT-trained jackdaws flying in single file with a stack of megabits in their beak and delivering them to my wireless router when they feel like it..
If they get in the wrong order, then all sorts of crazy stuff happens....songs start to play before I click on them for example.
