I highly recommend The Hamlet Podcast which I have just discovered. In each episode, Conor Hanratty takes us through the play 20 lines at a time, explaining and analysing as he goes in an easy and informal yet nevertheless rigorous manner. Each episode is around ten minutes long. The whole series does seem to go on forever - I am on episode 125 and the end is not yet in sight! - but it's never boring.

Kershaw's got a new edition of his irregular podcast posted and this time featuring the eighty-three year-old Martin Carthy live in Andy's kitchen.

Free for the first hour - you have to subscribe for the full show. However the first hour is worth listening to for a re-run of the Oldham Tinkers version of 'The Funeral Song' - hilarious!Last edited by johncorrigan; 26-08-24, 11:40.

Thank you, GT. Most informative and enjoyable. In a vaguely similar vein, on BBC Radio 4extra today, the first part of a two-parter from 2016 on the history of the turntable.

Here's another podcast of old 78s.
You can also find it wherever you find your podcasts.
Phonograph DJ Mac does tend to mainly play old American Tin Pan Alley vaudeville 78s though, although he has included John McCormack, Harry Lauder and Princess Watahwaso of The Penobscots Indian Reservation.
