Or should this be asked on the pedants thread?

I must confess I'm not precisely sure ...
It could suggest a Harry Partch spectacular:

Hosted by singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega and inspired by the San Francisco Symphony's music festival of the same name, American Public Media's American Mavericks series explores the revolution behind concert music in the 20th century and brings the series to public radio. Integrated Web and broadcast components.

Incidentally, in a recent chapter, I got my Partch, Brant and Flynt (or Harry, Henry and Henry) a bit muddled, just as for a moment I had forgotten there was a Rochberg 5.

Luckily the eagle eyed were too kind to say so. I am hoping they will now see this note.

Verity and Shirley Collins -- if you've not listened yet then I suggest you do. Not just for the music but the bonhomie, Shirley's straight talking, and a reminder of what great radio sounds like.

Her voice may be somewhat shot but past it she is definitely not.

Thanks GT - just arrived in my inbox is the link to 2017's Celtic Connections including a concert by Shirley Collins at Glasgow Concert hall. Not had time to investigate further as yet but here's the programme anyway.

            Thanks JC - useful info.
Shirley Collins' show sounded v spritely - traditional dancers from England (Morris) and America (step) whilst she endlessly sings of blood, treachery and lost love in her gruff way.
There are some other attractive acts on - Karine Polwart has a residency, Alisdair Roberts on twice, the enigmatic Sons of Arqa, chunky funster Eliza Carthy and the excellent Waywards, Martha Wainwright (compulsory to have a Wainwright - she's one of the best), hugely under rated DEREK GRIPPER ... I hope r3 coverage is more comprehensive and Not a few sessions from the late night club bash.
Full concerts of some of the aforementioned please Mr Scheduler.

Verity on tomorrow with Chris Wood. He does have a new-ish CD, So Much to Defend - mentioned elsewhere, but fingers crossed for some Lupton work.

In a nice way I thought, Global. I enjoyed his take on his own song - I thought he was perhaps a bit world weary listening to his recent songs, but I thought he made a good case for them. Anyway, there's nowt like a bitta glum anyway, I'd say! I had thought he'd maybe been binging on the Ken Loach boxset.

Verity played this crackin' bit of Cumbia in among the stuff last night.

Folk-funk - hadn't encountered that till Verity hit the vinyl archives this evening in the company of Andy Votel to celebrate record store day, and he chose Sunforest - they should do this more often.
Ahead of Record Store Day, Verity Sharp visits the BBC vinyl archive with Andy Votel.

All-vinyl Thursday - that would be good!

And now for something completely different...

Verity excelled herself on Tuesday with unequal temperaments. Including the statement that "the Chinese invented equal temperaments, but dismissed it as an interesting theoretical possibility, not fit for human consumption"!!
