Glad to hear Verity playing Olivia Chaney doing Violetta Parra's 'La Jardinera' last night - really enjoy her voice. (Verity too)

Hope the other shows are as good as last evening's Verity fest. What with more Blick, and Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill, and the Mothers there was so much to enjoy. But mention for Barou Drame from 'Lost in Mali', and the wonderful Karine Polwart giving a spine tingling performance of Ewan MacColl's 'The Terror Time' - sounds like an interesting record, this forthcoming collection of MacColl songs.
Verity Sharp with music from Messiaen, David John Sheppard, Frank Zappa and Blick Bassy.

Yup, wasn't it great. And she is such a terrific presenter. No side, no me-me-me, just quiet, conversational, no messing about, as if talking to friends. Excellent show. .

I could not agree more, and think that the Wo3 presenters should be reminded to listen to her shows from time to time - they could learn much !

Verity's back for another stint on LJ this week - there even seems to be some confusion about who's handling World on 3 on Friday.
Verity Sharp presents new world music and a session from Irish folk group Lynched.

It really was Verity on Wo3 and immediately begged the Q "Why hasn't she done this before?" Simply excellent.

                                A standout track:

a track she didn't play but maybe should:

She even finished off with a track from Junun - as prevously mentioned here.
