Good news - and Britain is now sending three chinooks to Mali to help in the war against terrorism.
(Although possibly only Justin Webb could pronounce the "ch" as in chin and the "ooks" as in books)Last edited by Lat-Literal; 18-01-18, 15:38.

... do we have any reliable evidence as to how the various Chinookan people might have pronounced their name?
.
[ ... wiki maintains that 'Chinook' is a Chehalis word - 'The name ″Chinook″ came from a Chehalis word Tsinúk for the inhabitants of and a particular village site on Baker Bay' ]

I am sorry to hear of their decline.

While everything falls apart, Mrs May has improved her presentation style in Parliament by getting Lidington to dig out all of Maggie's barbs when Labour was led by Foot. In contrast, Macron is a by-product of the Hadron Collider - the CERN engineers were told to manufacture Blair Mark II, that is, one who didn't simply hope to become the eternal King of Europe.
