Yesterday when I looked I couldn't get the list of artists.
Now I can and the list is so long I am only beginning to take it all in.
For a start, I didn't know there was a Steven Polwart.
But this is what immediately caught the eye:

I was talking to someone who's reading it at the moment and she told me that Dr John did actually play the Gig in Blairgowrie (unblinkinbelievable)...that it was not a myth, and that the book has a picture of the poster for the event.

Originally posted by johncorrigan View PostSure did, Lat - the thought of Judy in the Mackintosh Church was too much of an attraction to miss. Not horrendously expensive either. Full programme for 2019 launched this evening.

Originally posted by Lat-Literal View PostJC, I got the Google images up for the church and like it a lot. I have never seen Judy Collins live. Such was the allure, I was all ready to book tickets, knowing that the chances of me getting there are one in a million. That didn't seem fair when the seat could go to someone who could definitely make it. So I've been on to her website and discovered - I can't believe this - she is due to be at the Harlequin, Redhill on 25 January. I've never been in it but it is only seven miles from me so I'm just about to book it. All being well, we can compare notes.
Yes.....I have now booked it.

I was also thinking the great Shaker song 'Simple Gifts', cloughie, one of my favourite tracks by Judy Collins, and I think also from the wonderful 'Whales and Nightingales'.

Can't find much detail about this, but somehow Slow Moving Clouds with Lisa O'Neill in St Andrews Square appeals very much. Saw Chris Wood there at last year's Celtic Connections and I enjoyed the venue. Early Feb they are showing up towards the end of CC...it's Lisa O'Neill really that attracts...complete opposite of Judy C really.

I've changed the title of this thread to Celtic Connections, there is interconnectedness from year to year so a general thread on the topic made sense. And this is it
