Then Fats took the song and did what only Fats could. I often think he was a much underrated performer and didn't get the attention of others because he seems to have been just an ordinary guy. Here he is from a long time back in a Channel 4 programme where a youthful Jools Holland went on a trip to the Big Easy and met his hero.

Comedian Adam Buxton is a recent visitor to Peel Acres where guests have a trawl through the vast archives with Peel's son, Tom Ravenscroft. I decided to tune in as I'me very fond of the guy. One of the pieces he uncovered was this rather excellent parody of Neil Young by the National Lampoon guys. Appears to be mid-seventies - I have no idea who is playing guitar, but they've done a fine job. Sorry I'm a bit late for Mondays.
