Long time viewers of our sub-forum may be aware that I've a sister in Vanuatu. She sent me a track by Paran Latan, an all-woman outfit - band name translates as 'Women of Tanna' - here's "Awe koloini" - great vocals, I thought, but a bit heavy on the fiddle.
By the way, Tanna is one of the larger islands of the Vanuatan Archipelago, and renowned for its volcano, among other things.Comment

There's not many female Tuvan throat groups out there, but here is Tyva Kyzy, a five-piece, formed over twenty years ago. They sing accompanied by the chadagan (zither), among other instruments - this song is 'Tozhama'. A record is due out pretty soon.
