Lloyd Thomas -just flagging this one up...

From the Monogram Supertone Records album "Let's Love A Little With Cool Calypsos From The West Indies"

Perhaps if it is not too much trouble, you could remind me how to post pictures here as I have forgotten.

first find your image.
Only off the internet, not off your computer (? well, thats what I do anyway, someone will correcto me)
make sure it ends in something that indicates it's an image (jpg is good)
copy the URL, the address, the link what ever you call it
like this...

go to the little image of an image on your edit screen, next to the movie one, 3rd from the right.
click on it
past URL, address, link...
UNCLICK THE RETRIEVE THINGY
PASTE. you should see a line in your post that says

Save et voila

sit back and wait for humorous comment from JC, snarky comment from others, or, more likely, it will be totally ignored by all concerned.
c'est la vie.

Thank you very much GT.

I doubt that I will be able to find as good a picture as that one.

Steel Pulse's 'Sound Check' turned up on the radio today - just what's needed for a Caribbean Thrusday. Skank on!

That's very good, JC.

Tighter than they often were in their day.

I'd not seen it before and would have been at that stage if at the 2015 Glastonbury.

Thanks Global - pretty perishing out there! Looks like Beer Thursday's out of the question this week. Nice wee bit of film of Harry Belafonte singing 'Jamaica Farewell'. Hadn't seen it before...great backdrop...so realistic!

The Mighty Sparrow - Kennedy & Khrushchev - '63

Rushed out at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis - check out the LYRICS! The Mighty Sparrow's "Calypso Twist" is also on this channel.

The Mighty Sparrow revealing not for the first time that he supports the American Democrats.

At 55, I will always personally be pleased that the powers that be decided to delay the start of WW3 for 55 years.

Ideally, they could have made it slightly longer.

By far and away the best generations of immigrants - and the most discriminated against from the outset - were those who arrived pre 1976-77.

On much of what I have heard this week, well, frankly I cannot believe my ears.

Pretty sure this was produced by Dennis Bovell - producer and writer for Mutumbi - Janet Kay - Linton KJ etc. and brilliant dub musician in his own right lacking the idiomatic "sun and sand" feel of many based in the Carribean, he's more abstract imo

Dennis says he considered himself as coming to the "mother country" when he joined his family in London (from Barbados) in 1968, aged 14/15, and was "British" before he came.

Well, yes, and a very interesting post for which thanks. Love Matumbi, Steel Pulse, Misty in Roots etc.
