John, yep, it's that wonderful, unmissable documentary even with the inclusion of Mr Unnecessary, aka Bono. Star of the show for me is ... no I'll not prejudice your viewing !

Nitin Sawhney Spins the Globe is back on Rad2 for another series of 4 - I find him a bit irritating but he's playing a few nice tunes* and he's got Natacha Atlas in to do a session with him - write and record on the day - listening to him you'd think he was the only one who does this - doesn't he listen to Late Junction on that once a month Thursday...honestly!!!
*...he also plays some crappy ones!

I'm looking forward to seeing the Doc on Gene Clark on Beeb 4 this Friday.
Here's one of my faves from him...

and here's one I unreasonably recommend avoiding....
If out of curiousity you click on the genre 'world' on the BBC Radio wesbite, one of the shows offered is Giles Peterson's.
He started off with Seun Kuti, but I found after that there was a long overdose of high powered dance beats so this particular listener tuned out.
Clearly unfair to make such a recommendation on the basis of a single listen, so I will revisit his show again during this decade and provide a more considered opinion...
Hope springs eternal - I'm now looking forward to the new controller joining r3 who will doubtless sort WM out once and for all...what do you reckon he/she'll do?Last edited by Globaltruth; 27-03-14, 15:06. Reason: But he did play this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsyQDdVvLW4

Watched BBC2's 50 years of music last night - needless to say the programme was one where some short clips you wanted more of and some you wanted a lot less of. Really enjoyed the one-minute clip from this piece from the early 90s of Ryuichi Sakamoto, I think on the Late Show, so looked out the whole thing.
