Genuinely, I love Stonehenge. It lifts the spirits. Actually, it would be great to write songs for a CD that are all about the A303.

Achill-henge isn't quite as good but is impressive in its own way. My theory is that it was built by Irish sun worshippers who played the entire works of Turlough O'Carolan on a hammer dulcimer every other Friday.

If you look closely enough, you can see that it as an exact replica of the Giants Causeway.

The markings of the stones tell me that they must have been carried on the backs of whales from the Rhondda Valley by vegetarian monks, probably two hours and seventeen minutes before a lunar orbit:

Cerys played Nusrat FAK yesterday morning - that was great Sunday morning listening - mind you she followed it with the Floyd - curious! I keep finding myself enjoying Lambchop when I hear them/him on the wireless (which is almost what I was this weekend - wirelessless). John Cooper Clarke's compilation at 12 yesterday was a good listen too.

Nice day for Cerys in the garden this morning - they were broadcasting from Maida Vale...... Joe Boyd was on and chose Leroy Carr as a Blues Hero of his and played this. Apparently Leroy's liver gave out at 30 and you can tell he likes a drink.

Joe said that he had first been in that very studio on his first job out of College as organiser of the Blues/ Gospel train, and it was decided on a day off to make an Otis Spann record, so they got Otis, Muddy and a few others from the show in to make that record. He's good value that Joe Boyd. Recited a rather excellent ee cummings poem too for Cerys' poetry corner. Apparently writing a book about World Music just now.

The Essay this week is on the topic of mountains...don't think there will be much WM in them but you never know.
The first one sounds interesting as does Lucy Skeaping's show on Sunday at 1300 on the lullaby - looks like there is at least 1 WM track.

oh i love jacques henri lartigue ... he knows all the tricks globaltruth - every single one. my all time very best photographic exhibition visit ever too, curated by his family ....(not an 'unhelpful' curator's comment to read anywhere). after, we went to the catacoombs under neath paris, which i also enjoyed although was itching to steal some bones .... for some unearthly reason, (as i' don't usually experience cleptomaniac tendencies as a rule).

i'd best put it down to 'over excitement'!


speaking of which, thanks very much for all those great upcoming radio tips global ....obviously, am specially pleased that we're heading back to ethiopia for the 18th.
