    L'anneau d'Argent by Cecile Chaminade.

This presentation is dedicated to my friend, Mark (mark32646), who was my original inspiration to post the songs of John McCormack.A touching song, originall...

Perfect, Padraig. Listening to it had me wishing my old Dad was still around and we could listen to it together. He loved the Count. Stay well.

Following Petroc's lead this moprning, here is a cheery song from a young Maurice C. in 1935.
(Note that chef d'orchestra was one of Randy Newmans uncles)

Scène d'ouverture du film "Folies-Bergère" datant de 1935. Maurice Chevalier y reprend un de ses grands succès des années 1920, "Valentine"

Haha! Thanks for that. Second time in 24 hours that Maurice has made an appearance, Global. Master C, in lockdown on Skye, sent me this link with the information which I had been unaware of; that Maurice apparently got put in a prisoner of war camp in the first world war with a bunch of guys from Leeds which is why he has this strange accent when he talks in English. He sent me this one...not in French, but apparently covered by Tiny Tim and used on Sponge Bob Square Pants on the telly...haven't checked the TT version yet, but here's Maurice. Quality Yorkshire!

Yes G, there's always tomorrow . . . Beidh i gconai amarach. In Mexico they have a word - manyana; Irish, allegedly, does not have a word with the same sense of urgency.
