      Thanks Padraig.

Last time we visited Derry was 2013 - which seems frankly unbelievable.

From me, here is another from the singing island of Arranmore, their festival "Féile Róise Rua"

I've never been to Arranmore, G, to my shame. But at least I now know who the Rose of Arranmore will always be. Lovely video and wonderful Ellen Gallagher.

I'm glad you both liked it. I'm a fan of that film maker, Myles O'Reilly, so there likely will be more.

Not hard to choose here,G. A great song, made for a pub on a lads' night out, sung in a good arrangement with humour and enjoyment to an appreciative audience. Mind you, they worked hard to achieve that spontaneity and precision. Loved it.

I am enjoying the new Karine Polwart and Dave Milligan record so much. Here is Karine singing that Irish classic, 'The Parting Glass', with Dave's beautiful piano accompaniment.
The Parting Glass was originally commissioned by Peter Hanington of BBC Radio 4 for a Today programme curated by (the legend that is) Margaret Atwood. Margar...

Thanks for link. I had missed her new album despite being a Polwart fan. I've just greatly enjoyed it on Spoty. I find the voice/piano combination to be the purest, most intimate and communicative utterance - from German Lieder via French mélodies, taking in English song from Gurney, Finzi and others, up to Randy Newman and Joni.

Delayed from last week - the mighty Steve Cooney adds another award to his collection. Joseph K - you might like to suss out his guitar technique(s) - they say it's quite remarkable.

That was terrific, Padraig - I didn't know Steve Cooney had Australian Aborigine roots - great bunch of players in there...the rhythm had me thinking of Donal Lunny and Friends from 'Bringing It All Back Home' playing 'April the Third', a real favourite of mine from years back.

A great mixed bag today - a video covering two songs, with interesting background notes from Muireann Nic Amhlaibh and husband Billy Mac Fhlionn. The first song is Port na bPucai, Song of the Fairies, associated with Iarla, Sean ORiada and others, and with Seamus Heaney through his poem The Given Note,; the second is a traditional call to action, Oro se do Bheatha aBhaile, Welcome Home, usually in a rebel interpretation but here a call by the performers to solidarity in the face of the pandemic. It's worth hearing both.

Join Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and Billy Mag Fhloinn in one of Ireland’s most beautiful locations, West Kerry, as they celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish so...
