Thanks zola - that's the best guitar solo I've heard in a long time - it was around that time that I saw him in Glasgow. We were three rows from the front. He was wonderful with that wonderful band. At some point Ry's pal Harry Dean Stanton arrived on stage and sang a few tunes, I seem to recall. Fantastic show.

Here he is from 'Meeting by the River' with Vishram Mohan Bhatt on 'Isa Lei'. Might be my favourite Ry record, though as Lat said previously he has a considerable, and wonderful, back catalogue.

Great to hear Ry from Albert Hall tonight at the BBC Folk Awards getting a Lifetime Achievement...great to hear Shirley C singing too...and great choice too for Album of the Year...I think it will be seen as popular in this place!
