    Sat 11 March - 10.30 Soul Music

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

Memories of first love, first borns and loss are stirred by The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, the 1957 song written by Ewan MacColl for his then lover and folk collaborator Pegy Seeger. Fifgteen years later Roberta Flack's considerably slowed-down interpretation would spend six weeks at number one in the States and go on to win Grammys for both Record and Song of the Year. Contributors include Peggy Seeger.

Not wishing to take any flack for including this on the World Music board, (see what I just did there? ), some may have heard this programme first time around. Anyway, here is the lady in question, and the song:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
