It is more likely that people would be walking their dogs to it. There are as many dogs as people. As for the people, several of them are not the most sure footed. I was in there a month ago and a man approached me with the words "Roger" and a surname. I can't remember the surname but it was ever so friendly like. A greeting. I stopped the conversation I was having and looked at him blankly because I hadn't a clue what relevance the name had. After assuring him that I hadn't returned to the place after several years - a place that according to him I had been in virtually every day - he stormed off saying I looked like that Roger something. As far as he was concerned that is who I was and always will be.
Reminded me, Lat, of the time many years ago that I was walking up Byres Road, a thoroughfare of renown in the West End of Glasgow. I saw this guy I recognised that I hadn't seen in some time and gave him a wave and he also returned an enthusiastic wave to me and we moved towards each other. I said, 'Hiya Davie' as he said, 'Hiya Jim!' - He said 'Not me!' and I said 'Not me!' We had both mistaken each other for different people, laughed nervously and moved on with life. I always wish I'd stopped and talked to the guy...instead I just roll out the story every couple of years.
