John, pardon my lack of knowledge, but isn't this a Mexican song? If it is not, it should be!! That trumpet and those guitars. I'm quite a fan of Isaac and Nora; they are persistent and getting better all the time. I wonder how they will turn out.

I'm pretty sure it is a Mexican song, Padraig, so it complies with the rules of a Mexican Tuesday, you will be relieved to know. Seems the cute twosome are from South Korea originally and living in France. Looks like they can sing in a fair range of languages from their biog (fancy having a biog at that age!). How they'll turn out? - I haven't read what the runes are saying about youtube stars as yet, but don't think they'll be short of a bob or two.

This one was posted quite recently, wonderful photo plus, on YT, an almost indecipherable set of information which refers to the travels of a naturalist...maybe this was who collected the song?

The actual corrido song lyrics are about Juan who is in love with Luzita.
Juan goes to Lupitas parents to ask her hand in marriage and her rich parents deny him because they say he is a thief.
Juan takes Luzita against her parents wishes.
