Bob Dylan coming on for 80
With Bob heading for his 80th birthday later this month, I thought I might post a few great pieces from the many phases of his Bobness over the next couple of weeks, and of course, hope that others might like to do likewise. Thought I would start with the version of 'North Country Blues' from Newport in '63, which is such a powerful performance, and as relevant today as it was when he wrote it.

As said previously it's Willie McTell's birthday today and here's Bob in Newcastle in 2000 doing his take on McTell's 'Delia'.

Bob always reminds me of Charlie Chaplin in these videos - he's got some of the same moves. I just found out the famous bit was recorded in an alleyway behind the Savoy Hotel in London - had always assumed it was filmed in NY. What a trickster!

Wonder what happened to the cue cards?
