Not sure if this is of interest to anyone else but what leapt out at me amid all the very familiar songs on the set list was the No. 2, "Love Her With A Feeling", which I couldn't remember and still meant nothing to me. It turns out to be a pretty good blues track from Freddie King. (On YouTube).

He performed it on the 1978 tour but never again and I found no reference to it in any of my numerous Dylan books. He doesn't seem to have recorded it but I found a clip from the gig.

While we're here, the mighty Joan Baez is 80- today - here she is with Bob on 'Blowing in the Wind'. Happy Birthday, JB.
I captioned this performance so that hearing impaired people can watch and catch these haunting lyrics easier. I own no rights to this video.

In the early 60s, after we had got a turntable in the house, my Dad bought an early Vanguard LP of Joan singing songs that have stayed with me down through the years - songs like 'Lily of the West', 'Banks of the Ohio', 'Barbara Allen' and 'Plaisir D'Amour'. Wonderful record. Here's her take on the Carter Family's 'Engine 143'.

Happy birthday! I love Emmylou on Desire. Joan could also have done a nice job.

Here's Troubled & I Don't Know Why from Boz and Gunn. 1963. Only time Bob sang it live.

A reworking of What Did the Deep Sea Say? Woody Guthrie

Hadn't heard that duet, gurney. They sounded great together. Thanks.

The mid to late 60s were her best albums - ‘5’, ‘Farewell Angelina’, ‘Joan’ and ‘Any Day Now’ the last of these being originally a 2LP set of Bob Dylan songs with a wonderful recording of ‘Sad-eyed Lady of the Lowlands’.

            Happy birthday Joan

Emmylou was the ideal duet partner for so many singers !

Still on Joan Baez, I never knew her Mum was from Edinburgh...I found it out on 'Inheritance Tracks' on 4 extra this morning - she chose Jussi Bjorling's singing 'Tonerna', and her own 'Diamonds and Rust'. (about Bob and her, of course)

Never understand how come this never made it onto 'Time out of Mind'. Must ask Bob next time I see him. I love this - 'Red River Shore'.

I love this footage from Birmingham, 1965:

Here's a video I pieced together. I used outtakes of D.A. Pennebaker's documentary "Don't Look Back," then overdubbed the footage with crystal-clear soundboa...

Great bit of editing there don't you think, JR? Never tire of that song and Bob looks amazing in the vid. Thanks.

This would have been the same tour that I saw him at Sheffield City Hall.

An electrifying version of 'Shelter From The Storm' recorded live at Hughes Stadium, Fort Collins, Colorado on May 23, 1976:

Here's His Bobness thirty years back on wonderful picking form on 'Times They Are A' Changin' ' still managing to make the song sound fresh and raw.
