For no particular reason I found myself playing the mono CD re-issue of "Bob Dylan", his first LP, recorded 1961, issued1962. I hadn't played it for ages. A virtuoso solo folk/folkrock debut. He was about 20 and I was about 12 when it appeared but I almost certainly didn't hear any of it until several years later.
It occurred to me that I might be embarking on an unplanned, late-in-life chronological traversal of his complete oeuvre .... see how that develops.

I was back on 'Planet Waves' again a couple of nights ago - it was you who brought my attention back to it a couple of months ago, after Robbie died.. I love Bob's voice on it - here's 'Wedding Song'.

Re Wedding Song: it struck me that it starts off sounding a bit like House of the Rising (Risin') Sun - which is of course on his first album just mentioned.

Here's good old Bob from a couple of nights back in Nashville doing 'Goodbye Jimmy Reed' and 'Every Grain of Sand' and then wowing the audience with a wee bit moothie.
