I realise we should have made the effort to get to see Dylan this time around. We saw him in Bournemouth in 2017 and for some reason I had come to terms with that being our last one.

I gave myself some recompense having listened this morning on Spotify to the songs which inspired the Girl from the North Country musical which we greatly enjoyed at the Old Vic, also in 2017. Makes a nice playlist.

Can anyone tell me where we're headin' - Lincoln County or Armageddon?

Thanks, gurney - some great tunes in there indeed, and a lot you wouldn't expect - enjoying it as I write. I see the show is on tour and coming to Aberdeen in February - might try to get a couple of tickets if I can persuade Mrs C.

Producers made the offer after the singer said watching the ITV soap makes him feel "at home".

How about Bob joining Ena and Minnie in the snug for a bottle of milk stout?
I suspect he may get a hard look from Ena if he started with any of that protest song nonsense.

I’m sure Ena would have had an interesting discussion with Bob on religion and maybe asking what some of his lyrics meant but could have accompanied him on the harmonium on ‘Like a Rolling Stone’.

I wonder how Quo fan Les Battersby would get on with Bob?

Of course, I've been giving my annual listen to Dylan's festive album, Christmas in the the Heart. His magnificent rendition of "Must be Santa" sound like the Pogues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hoh7m3qHqf0

'Must Be Santa' is up there with some of Bob's greatest work I would say, gurney.

Gideon Coe on Radio 6 last week had a theme time Bob programme playing many of the songs riffed about by Bob in his new book as well as a few he mentioned on the way. I'm just about finished the book, and it was great to hear the songs played on a radio programme, the way that Bob would like them, I think.

I always loved 'All the Tired Horses' from Bob's critically declaimed 'Self Portrait'(I like it)... Lisa O'Neill did a version of it, which I think is great.

I then found this wee bit film of her singing of her love for Bob from 15 years back. So I thought I'd post it in case Bob's looking in.

I've just been reading Greils Marcus' biography of Dylan in seven songs. One chapter centres on Bob doing 'Jim Jones' an eighteenth century convict ballad which appears on 'Good As I Been to You' in the early nineties - apparently Dylan did the song for nine months in his live show trying, as Marcus suggests, to work the song out. And then he did it no more...here's one of those live versions of the song.

I'm a big fan of 'Workingman's Blues' from the excellent 'Modern Times', JR. I find it amusing that he called the record 'Modern Times', as I have to say he often reminds me of Chaplin in the way he moves and looks.
