On Radio 4 Extra this afternoon, from 2008, Andrew Motion, Kris Kritofferson, Al Kooper and others try to persuade Lenny Henry that Bob's worth listening to. Lenny doesn't get him. Will they change his opinion?

Amazing line-up including Mavis, Emmylou and Roseanne, with Carole on piano, backing Bob on 'Rolling Stone' from Letterman - I love the way he grows into it.

Sorry I missed it, JR. I heard there was a fine concert that Bob did online a couple of weeks back doing some of his less well know tunes. Got me thinking about one of Bob's less well-known songs that I used to have on Judy Collins' LP 'Recollections', and that I was thinking about recently; and found this wonderful recording of her singing it on Pete Seeger's 'Rainbow Quest' in the 60s...'Daddy, You've Been on My Mind'.

Thanks JR. Classic bit of Bob being Bob, and Ed trying hard to hang in there. By the way, Radio 4 have been re-running the series from earlier in the year, 'It Ain't Me You're Looking For'. Most enjoyable.

I wonder if his epitaph will read ‘I’ve been taking the p… all my life’. Deep down he’s probably not a very nice person, but then who knows? I’ve enjoyed many a track - I think I like most of it other than his mauling of the American Song Book - and he’s had some interesting influences over the years - Woody Guthrie, Elvis and Alan Price amongst others.

Is that the same film that was on Beeb 4 earlier in the year, JR?

'Trouble No More' was first shown on Arena, BBC4 on 31/3/2018.
Impressive footage of Dylan from an early 1980s tour alternating with sermons from a preacher.
I think it's worth seeing again, JC.

Couldn't help thinking that Bob was going through a Brel phase in this - I also thought he was holding a vape, but it turned out it was his moothie. Good old Bob; keeping me guessing. 'What was it you Wanted?'

One of his talking songs a bit in the style of Rough and Rowdy Ways. I like the double bass.

I'm liking the animated Bob, gurney. He must have thought that while he was at it he'd knock out a couple more tunes in the R&RW manner. Here's 'It's All Over Now Baby Blue'.
