    The Fall on Jools

I love this Youtube footage of The Fall playing 'Blindness' on 'Later...with Jools Holland'.
Jools is obviously not a fan, otherwise he would be accompanying with his 'boogie woogie' piano!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Thanks Jr...most enjoyable...not a facial expression in sight.

...and since we're on the subject of Later, and S_A mentioned Baaba Maal, here's a great wee bit from him on that prog.
An emotional and memorable performance on Later with Jools Holland.

Really this thread should have been started over on Talking about music.

Alternatively, speculation about cosmetic surgery is probably best placed on Platform 3?

(in the interest of open disclosure - I'm not a fan of JH nor his programme which imho does music on TV a disservice by its very existence)

Totally agree, Global - long outlived its usefulness...probably about 40 series ago. You have to listen to a lot of tosh and JH's mates to get to the odd cracker, but this is a total belter though it's been posted plenty times.

We saw this little lot a couple of times and, given that we're just back from Normafest, we're bound to agree... (we did give Eddie Reader a miss though). Don't want to get too sentimental but I've never been to a gig anywhere were there was so much love, warmth and affection for the star performer, the one and only Norma Waterson. As the young people, would say 'she owned the stage' - looked better than last time we saw her too.

It was streamed live, and you can still watch it - seven and a half quid, hmm. if you do, then I'd suggest you skip over rowdy ceilidh band Mawkin who were pretty poor both in terms of balance, sound quality and content. Unlike the acapella folk group Devil's Interval who opened and were spot on

Here's a nice intimate version of a song she did at Normafest, this is from a few years back :
Martin Carthy, Norma Waterson & Chris Parkinson at the Royal Oak, Lewes, March 18thMartin Carthy is a much loved and enormously influential figure in English...

And now I'm loving the irony of posting this on a Fall/Jools thread

Mark E Smith & his wife, Elena on Channel 4 News:

They were the godfather of indie music John Peel's favourite band. "The Fall." he said, "Always different, Always the same." The 59-year-old front man Mark E...
