Salif Keita - Syrie

From his new and, sadly, last album "Un Autre Blanc" released on 1 February 2019.

The CD has a vibe that is reminiscent of his output in the late 1980s and 1990s.

There are several stand out moments.

This is not, in my opinion, the best track but it is the one currently with the video:

This comes from 'The Lost Words: Spell Songs', a record based on the writings of Robert Macfarlane and art of Jackie Morris. This sounds like it has a fair bit input from Karine Polwart, though the performers on the album also include Julie Fowlis, Sekou Keita and Kris Drever among others. Great sound, I thought.
