    Music of the Silk Roads

If you happen to be in London on 29th November, 17.30 - 20.00, the British Museum has free concerts 'on a casual drop-in basis' in connection with the museum's Silk Roads exhibition.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

An interesting article that puts a slightly different slant on the Silk Roads
Two dazzling new exhibitions at the British Library and British Museum show the riches of the supposed east-west link but also highlight problems with the whole idea

... but Dalrymple is not disinterested here : very much an 'India hand', he has just recently published a book showing how much the west owed to India and is a bit nose-out-of-joint at this rival emphasis...

I wondered about that. But an informative article nevertheless.
