    New Protest song

This song is causing some serious ripples - political weaponisation of popular music isn’t new but there’s some heat around this one.

There is no doubting the strength of his conviction accompanied by excellent dobro work.

When was the last time you listened to a protest song ?
When was the last time you listened to a protest song that cut through?

Interesting stuff, GT. Powerful performance. Reminded me a touch of the old Springsteen. Like the Boss' 'Born in the USA', different sides in the political divide will try to weaponise it as their own - Trump supporters will suggest that the Donald is not a rich man north of Richmond (VA, I assume), for example - I assume it is aimed squarely at Washington.

Yes, Washington is 90 miles north of Richmond. And yes, it has been weaponised by both sides.

Luckily here on the forum the ripples are small and well contained (so far... )

        Pipped at the post G!
I'll say what I was going to say - which is that my immediate instinct was to give three cheers. But then I began to wonder who or what his target is, or even if he has a target. Like, is he concerned about, say, rich men west of Richmond? I think 'rich men' is a good place to start anyway.

Agreed, here in England the lyrics could be simplified because the rich people live IN Richmond...
