Very well written piece (as usual) at Richard Williams' "Blue Moment" music blog on memories of BV and Cuba etc.

I loved Eliades Ochoa's song on In Tune, just before the news, with translation of the interview in real time (enabling enjoyment of his Cuban Spanish accent, consonants in short supply ) - charmingly he had to be reminded by the translator which song he was supposed to be singing, but it was fine.

Nick Gold from World Circuit records is on Cerys this morning on 6 Music talking about Buena Vista and playing some of the live tracks from the recently released record...and Tom Brosseau is also making an appearance live - some very good stuff on his new record.

              Lost and Found:

Deduct points for cliched, international phenomenon, re-tread, blood out of a stone, but have you heard the version by, offcuts and ragbag collection. That's an instruction to professional critics who don't need instruction. On planet earth and without the obstructive nuances - let's face it the NME always did those better - this is a wonderful cd as in wonderfully enjoyable. Mind you, I do have Ruben Gonzalez as the pianist in my super group of all super groups so I'd decided beforehand. At my age, I can do things like that.

(Love it, love it, love it........damn, that's a gush)
