Made a new promise to myself. Going to study world music at uni. Who knows I may even come across our Lucy at SOAS.

Hey Martin - good to hear from you. How're you doin'? Can you really study WM at Uni? - sounds good. I have to say that Lat's been pointing a bit attention to some fine Japanese music lately, which has been very fine. I'll let my daughter hear that track - she likes SP a lot.

So a quick question then ?

Discuss, with reference to Nettl and Kunst the main issues facing ethnomusicology in the 21st Century with particular reference to the "World Music" concept.

        MrGG,

Image is, I believe, one of the most serious difficulties for those who study the music form book

Indeed but what is puzzling is why Chelmsford council have such an image online in the first place ?

Can we have a regular Gagaku slot on R3 ?

            Mr GG,
            Q1.
            Answer

"One World Chelmsford - Free Multi-Cultural Event Saturday 30th April 2005
One World Chelmsford took place on Saturday 30 April 2005 and transformed the Town Centre into a medley of exotic colours, sounds, smells and tastes. Over a hundred participants took part in Chelmsford Borough Council's first multi-cultural day.

Stalls and displays filled the Meadows and High Chelmer Shopping Centres and spilt out into the High Street. A small selection of the activities included Writtle College who held an Origami workshop, The Deanes School with various Chinese art activities and at the BBC Essex stand there was a chance to have a go at reading the news!

Three performance venues, at Backnang Square, Market Square and the Town Sign, ensured a lively atmosphere throughout the day. Backnang Square hosted English Country dancing, Ceroc Jive dancing, puppet shows and Bulgarian Folk music, whilst performances at Market Square included Irish music and dancing and African dancing and drumming. A stage was specially commissioned for the Town Sign for this event and featured Indian Folk dance, Flamenco dancing with live guitarists, Turkish belly dancers and a Scottish Folk trio "

Hi John! I'm doing pretty well thanks. Found this from my old alma mater:

I'd probably start with undergraduate studies in music at the OU and maybe get a diploma before moving on to the MA.
