Musicport (last weekend) was excellent this year - lots of highlights including Olcay Bayir (featured on Wo3 the same weekend), Rise Kagona & the Jit Jive Band and Catrin Finch & Seckou Keita to name just three but the performance that blew me (and many others) away was from a young multi cultural group based in Sweden - just found their website and you can get a feel for their energy if you listen to the tracks on there. Really hoping they are rebooked for Musicport and get a chance to play some other UK festivals as they were absolutely superb! http://varldensband.com/about/
