Yes, I did hear that last night GT. I really like the old radio jingles. I also enjoyed World Routes with Lucy on Cape Verde although it was an odd afternoon when I was drifting in and out of sleep.

I awoke to Jazz Library which featured Tim Garland. It was quite interesting I thought with Lammas being a bit folky and I particularly enjoyed The Lighthouse Trio piece with its evocation of the sea.

On a completely different note I ended up at the Scottish Parliament yesterday - I won't bore you with the details but it was nice to have a look round - there was a big procession down the Royal Mile - first time I'd ever walked down the middle of the Royal Mile - guy beside me said, 'Well it's the first time I've done it sober anyway in the middle of the day'. There was rock bands and folk bands and an enormous Pavarotti-like chip shop owning tenor (why was I thinking Chris Wood), who was trussed up and churning out a few tunes more appropriate for other parts of the Forum.

On the Riding down the Royal Mile we were sandwiched between a very loud samba band in front and a full pipes and drum crew behind. Eventually the pipes stopped playing cos the Samba Band were drowning them out

Missed Her Madge who had disappeared back into Holyrood Palace before we got there. I also missed Karine Polwart singing to Her Madge, the Chookie (as he is affectionately referred to in these parts) and the MSPs - she sang Burns and Gaughan's great 'Now Westlin' Winds' and our recent chain starter 'Follow the Heron'.

I'm sure I'm not breaking any confidences Global by saying that he talked to me about the quality of Alyth Golf Course and how you could find truffles in the woods there - I said I usually went to Thorntons for mine.

I did see a few of those folk on the MSP list including a guy I was at school with - it's a nice building and beautifully set at the foot of Arthur's Seat - Eck's right hand man, Mr Swinney, told me that Karine was wonderful. I was jealous that I'd missed her.
