I have seen the reason, GT, but what is the answer?

Gentlemen - may I draw your attention to a forgotten gem?
It is that neglected playlist known as 246 songs about film.
I mean, Wow. Currently a Malcolm Mclaren mash up but previously some wondrous Baaba Maal with Antibalas that I haven't listened to for yonks. Pin your lugs back & tune in

Came on here to plug a double album JC kindly pointed me at on the Spotify thing
Heres's a sort of link
Then I was distracted by a really odd thread over on Platform 3, by a MalcolmTalcolm - was going to comment on the posts about 'I don't know anyone who likes LJ' but decided it was easier here, because whoever wrote that clearly never visits this Quiet Corner.
And they're never going to change their view are they?
Anyway that album of Caribbean Funk, diablos del Ritmo 1960-1985,the Colombian melting pot ,has some veritable gems -
Now how can we get it a wider audience? Thanks JC anyway.

The Winter challenge
Other than Lat relentlessly, inspirationally plugging away on Trees, as well as his memorable review of 2012 there's been little activity on the Spotty front lately.
Let's fix that with some individual efforts - I propose we each produce a playlist of our choice created to entertain and inform our listeners (well, each other probably). The rules are as follows:
1 A max of 12 tracks (i've said this so Lat can immediately complain and we agree on about 15)
2 Has to be complete around mid-Feb (this is to give plenty of time for personal procrastination, endless debate and the usual soul music searching)
3 Link to be published here when finished. (help will be provided via our unique online personalised help forums via our call-centre in Greenland)
4 Open to anyone in the world. (who reads this forum and has Spotify...that'll be the usual suspects then)
5 There will be no songs about Monkeys in Space
although, under an emergency Allied Energy Encouragement adjunct, songs about Electrical Baths are now permitted
5 There are no other rules

Are those pigs urban?
So, for example, this is pleasant enough but probably doesnt cut the mustard
whereas this, this, is, once again, the voice of an angel trapped in a human's body

Three great clips and an interesting picture. The British and the Americans are the world leaders in comedy. I welcome the relentless and inspirational labels. They sound contradictory until one thinks of the people who enjoy climbing mountains.
Looking forward to the new lists. I am content with the number '12' other than to ask if I will find 12. A freestyle approach always leaves me wondering what the answer is, whether with the finished product I've found one, whether the product is actually finished and what kind of product it could be. I might have to ensure that all 12 of mine are connected by the theme of 12.
And some (good) news just in. In recent days, troops have pushed the fans of the end of all music back from key towns in Mali.Last edited by Guest; 29-01-13, 00:02.
